What I've Been Up To
This summer has been so amazing.
Summer 2024 has been filled with firsts, nostalgic favorites, and lot's of work.
Earlier this summer I had the amazing opportunity to go with Virginia Tech to Switzerland and Italy for a quick 2 week study abroad program. This was my first time going oversees, and I got bit by the travel bug. I met so many amazing people, ate amazing food, and got to learn so much in such a short amount of time. We got to stay at the wonderful Steger Center which is run by Virginia Tech so we felt very safe and at home while in a brand new place. While we were there we also got to visit Florence, Milan, and Lake Como. Overall that trip was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat (maybe if I was a millionaire).
Once I got back home from Europe it was back to regular life at work. This summer I have been working at the New Kent Visitor's Center, but I also had an unexpected job fall into my lap. I am now also a Campaign Intern with the office of Delegate Amanda Batten! This has been such a great experience that I will never forget. In both of my jobs I have been able to practice social media marketing, email marketing, and networking. Because of these jobs I have been a bit MIA from photography, but I can't wait to get back to Blacksburg in a little over three weeks!
Other than work, my family and I were able to sneak away to the Outer Banks for a long weekend for July 4th. This trip was so much fun getting to catch up with family, relax at the beach, and eat more great food. These weekends at the beach are always my favorite.
Now that summer is winding down I have been trying to plan out my next semester of school! I will be interning with Virginia Tech's Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics, I am super grateful for this experience and can't wait to get started. I have also been spending way too much money at HomeGoods trying to buy everything for my new apartment, so far I love everything I've bought but there's still a lot more that I need.
Coming up for the little bit of summer left you can catch me watching the olympics (my fav), working, and planning my next photoshoots! I have one more senior session at home and then it's back to Blacksburg.
